Given the current lack of Reflexology regulations in Canada, the Universal College of Reflexology aligns itself with the highest standards of Reflexology in the world, the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) of United Kingdom where Reflexology training is taken very seriously and is even a part of the health regime of the Royal family.
Acceptance by the CMA, especially for an international school, is no small matter. In fact, vetting of the Universal College of Reflexology training programs plus an in-depth review of faculty members and their credentials took nearly two years by the CMA. The result is that the Universal College of Reflexology is the only Reflexology training institute in North America to have earned the CMA registered “centre of excellence”.
The Universal College of Reflexology programs are accredited internationally by the Natural Therapies Certification Board (NTCB) in the United States. The faculty at the Universal College of Reflexology are registered with the NTCB as Certified Master Reflexologists and Certified Reflexology Instructors.

Does this mean that if the Canadian Government regulates Reflexology, our certificates from the Universal College of Reflexology will be honoured without upgrading or re-certification
Hi Amber,
Good question. Because we have purposely structured our Reflexology training to meet and exceed international standards of the highest levels, we believe that it is unlikely that a Canadian regulatory body would exceed our standards. Therefore, graduates of the Professional Foot Reflexology Practitioner program #PFR1 will likely be “grandfathered in”. Having said that, continuing education is a requirment for all licencing bodies. So no matter what your training is, life goes on and in our field we always learn more and more making upgrades for re-certification likely mandatory.
