Carrying on from yesterday’s post, here’s some more sure ways to build up your business locally by attracting clients with your personal presence.
In both these cases, you can join local groups who love to network with you about your business.
1) Networking groups - You can find local networking groups in your area by contacting the city and reading the paper. Depending on where you live there are usually several options. There are fees to join and it is important to visit several to find ones that are a good fit for you. The purpose is to network, so the mission for attending is nice and focused – helping to grow each other’s businesses! There are more and more groups doing this. Try a “Google” search for “networking” and the name of your city.
There are lots of women’s business clubs who often meet monthly or more often for dinner and networking.
2) Chamber of Commerce – Most local chambers of commerce host regular networking events, either after hours get-togethers or morning coffee/breakfast gatherings, luncheons and so on. You can usually find ample information on your local chamber’s website. They normally have a list of events that are available to members and non-members.
Always join the local Chamber of Commerce. It is a great way to promote yourself and your business and get to meet the other business people in your area.
