Winning by Failing – Reflexology Coaching

Nothing is ever lost by failure, error or disaster. Unless you allow it to be lost. Do not accept defeat lightly. Every dusk has a new dawn

Many of us fear failure. But we also want success in life and all the “jolly lolly” that goes with it. Babe Ruth is in the Baseball Hall of Fame as the biggest hitter of home runs (apparently… ) and is also in there for the most strike outs! He put it this way, “Every strike brings me closer to the next home run.” It’s like they say in the Lottery, “You’ve got to be in it to win it!” Read the rest of this entry »

Sleep for health

Every move we make causes us to spend a certain amount of energy – every thought we think squeezes a little life out of us.  This loss is partly made up by the food we eat, the fluid we drink and the air we breathe.  But it is chiefly during sleep that the life principle flows back into us – that our loss in energy is made good. How Reflexology Works

Reflexology & Proper Circulation

Proper circulation is the key to a healthy body.  It’s no coincidence that without a properly functioning “Circulatory system” the body becomes distressed and eventually slides into a state of dis-ease.  Consider that our planet made up of 70% water is just like us and most other living beings relying completely on circulation to sustain life.  Stagnation signals death.

When congestion stifles circulation to an area the body clearly calls out to us through aches and pains.  But such calling falls on deaf ears as we tend to ignore our body’s clear messages.  And when the body yells louder we silence its alarm by yielding to the pharmacy grasping at pills to stifle the noise.  Alas, pills only mask these symptoms.  The underlying cause:  congestion/stress = stagnation weakens our body and moves us into illness as our health spirals lower and lower.

The body, the mind and the spirit are an indomitable team and will heal if given half a chance.  This is where Reflexology shines.  Reflexology is such a simple modality which has the ability to stimulate circulation by relieving stresses and areas of congestion reflected in points on the feet, hands and ears.  When a client reveals a sensitive reflex this is an indication of a stress cue.  The Relfexologist uses simple techniques to assist the body by breaking down congested areas thereby allowing the body’s natural circulatory abilities to restore health and destroy dis-ease.

Now that’s how Reflexology works!

Living My Life with Passion

This past Sunday was a special day for me as we were invited by our son and daughter-in-law to watch six month old granddaughter Isabella at her very first swimming lesson.  She laughed, splashed and loved it!  And so did all of us.

Later in the afternoon I found some solitude.  Sitting amidst the tranquility on our deck:  listening to the almost rhythmical splashing of our waterfall;  warbling sounds of birds and honking of fly-by geese;  watching in awe the majesty of our neighbourhood bald-headed eagle circling above;  enjoying the satisfaction of new growth and vibrantly colourful flowers turning our spring garden beautiful.  My mind slowly drifting back in time over my life, pondering how I have changed.

I spent most of my life attempting to be cool and yet at the same time through my own form of humour attempting to be centre of attention – a leader.  I walked a fine line between conformity and non-conformity.  And yet, I judged others who lived in the nonconformist camp, I considered them downright weird and for the most part avoided them .

Today, I believe that life is a journey and as we grow and change, our understanding of life and our truth changes.  I am getting so much better in my quest to become nonjudgmental and in so doing I’ve developed a new respect for:  the free thinkers that shun modern society, hippies as we used to call them; those geeky people who’s social skills may be lacking but are creators and again free-thinkers;  tree huggers and protesters standing up for our rights and free speech as governments firmly tread on the values our country was built on.

I now live my life as an adventure, seeking out truths, experiences, beauty, love, and helping others to become the best that they can be.  Striving to balance work and play – so far out of balance but getting in a little more play.  I love golf and yet my life has been so busy working nearly every day that I haven’t played a game of golf in over ten years!  Soon, I’ll be out there golfing again.

Nearly everything I do now, I do with a sense of artistry – teaching, coaching, appreciating life and its many wonders, the magnificence of our planet, groves of forests, nature all around us, amazing living species we share our world with, being a grandparent.  Sharing this lifestyle with my family and others with whom I come in contact.

I live my life with passion and with purpose.

Reflexology Coaching – Flexibility is the key

Business opportunities for graduates of professional Reflexology training are expanding rapidly.  This is due to a number of reasons.  One in particular is the great flexibility offered by the nature of reflexology – it can work successfully as a stand-alone business as well as along-side other businesses or even within other professional practices.  Reflexologists can be home-based, in commercial settings or even mobile services bringing Reflexology to those that may incur difficulty getting around. What Are Reflexologists Really Selling?

If you read the brochures that so many Reflexologists print out these days, you won’t have to pick up too many to find most Reflexologists are selling Reflexology.  Well, that sounds pretty reasonable doesn’t it?  Or, hmm, does it?  Let’s zoom in a bit and take a closer look.  The size of the market, albeit a growing one, for people wanting to pay good money for Reflexology is questionable.  Sure, some people will say that’s what they want.  perhaps that’s true, but is it what they really want?  Because I’ve learned that for most people Reflexology is not what they really want.

So, the question is what do people really want?  And, are Reflexologists selling it?  Read the rest of this entry »
